Pyrococcus abyssi rubredoxin at 0.43 Å

Paknia et al. report the X-ray crystal structure of rubredoxin from the archaeon Pyrococcus abyssi rubredoxin solved at a resolution of 0.43 Å [1]. According to the authors, it “represents the highest resolution protein structure yet determined”. Currently, the PDB contains only 20 entries, apart from the reported ones [3, 4], at a resolution better than 0.7 Å.
